The MP22 is a robust contactless rotary potentiometer. The unit can be used for absolute positioning suitable for application in harsh environments.

The sensor provides an analogue voltage output, radiometric, with amplitude of 0..5Vdc or 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc proportional to the shaft angle position. The scanning principle of the sensor is based on a magnetic scanning principle. The potentiometer consist of two separate parts. The scanning unit and the magnet itself.

The scanning is contactless. This means that there are no wearing parts. The lifetime of the sensor is therefore much longer in comparison with conventional potentiometers.

The potentiometer is powered by a 5Vdc supply and available with an axial cable outlet. The length of the cable may be decided upon order. The sensor is only 22 millimeters in diameter which makes it useful for use in space limited applications.

The active angle of the sensor, e.g. the area in which the full scale (0..5Vdc) is displayed is configurable upon order. This mean that the full scale can be provided during 20º to 360º based on the requirements of the application.
